Thank you for visiting Mt Carmel.
Passion, Heartache, Joy, Inspiration and Family would best describe our lives with wolfhounds.  We rejoice in the miracle of life at birth,
we share in every adventure and ah inspiring accomplishments through out their lives.  We morn for them as they make their way to
The Rainbow Bridge and keep their memories alive and close to our hearts.  The Irish Wolfhound is not for everyone.  Everything about
this breed is on a grand scale.  The rewards are priceless.  The sorrow of saying goodbye is almost too much for the heart to bear.

If you are interested in acquiring a wolfhound puppy or adult please read everything you can find on wolfhounds...Visit with other
people that have wolfhounds.  Wolfhounds are NOT like any other dog; this is a unique breed requiring only the best human family.
Also throw in some craziness as you go shopping for that larger vehicle to accommodate your truly large family.
The Irish Wolfhound is of Great Size and Commanding appearance.  Remarkable in combining power and swiftness with keen sight.
The largest of the galloping hounds in general type is a rough-coated greyhound - like breed.  (First three lines of the Standard)

Wolfhounds can be traced back as early as 273 BC. They were sent as highly coveted gifts to emperors, kings, nobility and poets.
They were held in such high esteem that when disputes arose over them, not only individual combats but full scale wars often
occurred.  Irish wolfhounds were so highly prized for their hunting prowess, particularly in pursuit of the wolf.  Of all the animals
cherished in Ireland, dogs are the most revered. Of these, only the Irish Wolfhound appears as a symbol throughout the land.  Today,
these mighty dogs of ancient emperors and kings are seen in the show rings, competing for coursing, obedience and agility titles
around the world; playing in fields and with children and walking beside the owners they so dearly love.
